Questions about our food?

We get it. As parents ourselves, we know that it's important to feel confident about what you're sending to school. We've tried to answer all of your questions here in our FAQs, but please reach out if you need anything else at all!

We do have a Registered Dietitian on staff to help ensure that each meal is nutritionally balanced. Everything is bought locally and packed the same day it is delivered.

Wondering how the program works?

It's basically a meal prep service, but for kids! Each week, you can select from a variety of favourite items, with options to satisfy even the pickiest eater. On Sunday we make and package all the food in such a way that it stays fresh as long as possible. Then it's delivered to your door in a cooler bag ready to be transferred to the fridge.

Some meals, like sandwiches, are meant for Monday/Tuesday. Others, like the salads and pastas, last right up until Friday.

Each morning just grab a main item, one of the snack bags, and one each of the fruit and veggie portions we've sent. Your child will get a full day of food in just a few seconds.

FAQs

Yes, Fun Lunch orders can be processed on our website. We will provide a specific link that you can share with parents. If they lose or mis-type the link, it will default to an index page they can use to find their order form. You can choose to have the parents pay when they submit the order, or we can invoice the school for the total amount.

Yes! While we may not be able to meet all dietary needs, we are continuously expanding our menu to offer more options. Currently, we provide: Dairy-free options Vegetarian and some vegan options Gluten-free options (Please note: Our gluten-free meals are not suitable for those with celiac disease but are safe for those with gluten allergies or sensitivities.) Nut-free meals If you have specific dietary concerns, feel free to reach out—we’ll do our best to accommodate!

Yes, any item that requires cutlery will arrive. We offer bamboo spoons and forks.

Yes, our website can provide a basic overview of each Main Item's nutritional values based on its ingredients. This include calories, fat, sugar, protein, carbohydrates and some vitamins. For a more comprehensive breakdown, our Registered Dietitian can provide a full report on each of our items.

Yes, we have basic nutritional information for all of our Main Items available on the website in the Product Detail pages. This information is calculated using the nutrition labels for each ingredient in the item. We can also supply a full breakdown of nutritional information from our Registered Dietitian for a more detailed review.

Prepackaged Meals: An additional $1.00 per meal. All meals are individually packaged in recyclable or compostable materials. We use a color-coded system with a legend to make distribution simple and efficient. Family-Style Meals: Delivered in chafing dishes with a portion guide to help with serving. Serving utensils and chafing dish heaters are available upon request. Both options are designed for convenience—choose the one that best fits your needs!

Delivery fees are based on the size of your order: 25–30 meals: $10 per delivery 31–50 meals: $5 per delivery 51+ meals: FREE delivery! Let us know if you have any questions—we’re happy to help!

Every school operates differently, so we offer a flexible program that adapts to your needs while maintaining standardized processes for quality and consistency. Schools running a daily or regular hot lunch program can choose from a rotating menu with pre-selected options (We’ll work with you to incorporate preferences into the schedule) For schools that order once a week or host occasional fun lunches, we can create a set menu based on your preferences. I live in a condo or need my bag dropped off somewhere other than the front door. No problem! You can add delivery instructions to your profile on our website, allowing our driver to access your building or leave your bag in a preferred location, such as around the back of the house. **If your building requires entry access, please provide a backup method in case you’re unavailable to answer the buzzer. (Building manager, neighbor, partner etc.)**

Yes! Whether you choose prepackaged or family-style meals, all food is carefully weighed to ensure you receive the same amount, no matter which option you select

Yes! We carefully monitor food temperatures to ensure safety. When packing, we record the time and temperature and use heat packs or ice packs in our coolers to maintain proper conditions. Your food will remain safe to eat for up to four hours after delivery, unless otherwise noted on your packing slip.

Yes, we require a minimum of 25 meals per order.

Yes! If you can gather at least five people in your area, we’ll add your location to our delivery route. ⚠️ If someone cancels resulting in less than 5, we’ll notify you that delivery to your area may be discontinued unless another person signs up. Other options include: Picking up your order at our location on Yates & Cook. Choosing an alternate drop-off location, such as a friend’s house. Please contact us to discuss options!

Simply place your bag outside on Sunday before your delivery. When we drop off your new order, we'll collect the old bag and ice packs.

Our system has a default order set for every delivery day. If you have not placed your order by the cutoff time we will simply use the default for your delivery. You can be confident that you'll get a mix of hot and cold items to provide a great variety and full nutrition for your child's lunches that week!

Your order will be delivered every Sunday, right to your door. Delivery times vary based on your location and our route for the day, but most deliveries occur between 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM. If you add your phone number to your profile, you’ll receive a text message when your food is dropped off.
